Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions people most often ask before getting in touch. If yours is not here, call, email or message me.

Is Nikolina Kolokotroni a licensed psychologist?

Yes. I am a Licensed Counseling Psychologist registered with the Cyprus Psychologist Registration Council (Reg. No. 942). I hold a BSc in Psychology and a postgraduate diploma in Psychodynamic Counseling from the University of Essex, and a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Nicosia.

Where are the offices?

I see clients in person at two offices: Dorieon 7, Strovolos 2023, Nicosia, and Anageniseos 6, Limassol 3052.

What languages are sessions offered in?

Greek and English. I am fluent in both and offer all my services in either language.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. I offer online therapy (teletherapy) for people living abroad, for example those navigating a new culture or feeling isolated from their home community. Sessions are in Greek or English.

What is your therapeutic approach?

I work with the Integrative Model, which blends psychodynamic therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It gives us the flexibility to explore deep-seated emotional issues or to build practical strategies for managing daily stressors.

What areas do you work with?

I work with adults navigating different life experiences, emotional challenges, and periods of change. My areas of interest include grief and loss, life transitions and change, relationships and interpersonal dynamics, motherhood and parenthood, identity and LGBTQ+ experiences, and cultural differences and adjustment. These areas are not exhaustive: you do not need to identify with a particular difficulty or have a clear reason for seeking therapy to begin.

What happens in the first sessions?

The first session, along with approximately the first four sessions, is exploratory in nature. This initial period allows us to get to know one another, begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship, and explore the reasons that have brought you to therapy.

How long is a session?

Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes.

Do you run workshops or seminars for organizations?

Yes. I design tailored workshops and seminars for individuals and organizations, built around the specific needs of the audience.

How do I arrange a first appointment?

Call +357 97443664, email kolokotroni.nikolina@gmail.com, or send a message. Tell me whether you prefer Nicosia, Limassol or online, and Greek or English.
