Individual therapy
Individual therapy is one-to-one work with me. It is for people who want to understand themselves more deeply, manage anxiety, and find better ways through the challenges of work, relationships and everyday life.
Who do I work with?
I work with adults navigating different life experiences, emotional challenges, and periods of change. I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where we can explore your experiences, better understand your emotions and relationships, and work towards a greater sense of self-understanding and wellbeing.
My areas of interest include:
- Grief and Loss
- Life Transitions and Change
- Relationships and Interpersonal Dynamics
- Motherhood and Parenthood
- Identity and LGBTQ+ Experiences
- Cultural Differences and Adjustment
These areas are not exhaustive. You do not need to identify with a particular difficulty or have a clear reason for seeking therapy to begin. We can start with whatever feels important to you.
How do we work?
My work is rooted in the Integrative Model, which blends psychodynamic therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This gives us the flexibility to explore deep-seated emotional issues or to build practical strategies for managing daily stressors, depending on what you need.
My priority is a safe, respectful and non-judgmental environment in which we can explore the defenses and barriers that have developed over time and find constructive ways to address what lies beneath them.
What to expect in our first sessions
The first session, along with approximately the first four sessions, is exploratory in nature. This initial period allows us to get to know one another, begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship, and explore the reasons that have brought you to therapy.
During these sessions, we will discuss your personal history, relevant life experiences, and current circumstances to develop a better understanding of your needs and concerns. This is also an opportunity for you to share your expectations of therapy, identify the goals you would like us to work towards, and ask any questions you may have about the therapeutic process.
An important part of this initial stage is determining whether we feel comfortable working together and whether my therapeutic approach is a good fit for you. Building a relationship grounded in trust, collaboration, and mutual understanding provides a foundation for our work together.
There is no need to have everything figured out before we begin. We can take the time to explore what feels important to you and develop a shared understanding of how therapy might best support you.
How long is a session?
Each therapy session lasts 50 minutes.
